CITY OF GEORGETOWN FIRE DEPARTMENT INFORMATION The City of Georgetown Fire Department was established in 1807. The Department became a full-time paid department in 1987. Currently the Department is staffed entirely by full-time paid personnel. The department is responsible for an area of () square miles with a population of () citizens. The City of Georgetown Fire Department is comprised of Fifty-One full-time shift personnel. The shifts are run on a 24 hour on-duty/ 48 hour off-duty basis. Each shift is comprised of one Battalion Chief, four Captains, and twelve Firefighters. In addition to the shift personnel, forty-hour personnel include the Chief of the Department, one Assistant Chief, Fire Marshal, Fire Inspector, and two Administrative Assistants. The City of Georgetown Fire Department responds with 4 front-line apparatus, these include a 1994 Pierce Lance Pumper, a 2005 E-One Pumper, a 2002 American LaFrance 75 foot Quint, and a 1996 LTI Simon 102 foot Rear-Mount Aerial Platform. Reserve apparatus include a 1992 Pierce Tele-Squirt and a 1990 Seagraves Pumper. Other available apparatus are a 1994 Ford L7000 configured as a HazMat response apparatus and another 1994 Ford L7000 configured as a Heavy Rescue apparatus with a mounted cascade system. Additionally, two response trailers are available; one for additional HazMat needs and the other houses equipment needed for trench rescue. The City of Georgetown Fire Department consists of 3 fire stations. Station 1 located at 141 South Broadway, Station 2 located at 200 Morgan Mill Road, and Station 3 located at 101 Airport Road. The department responds to all calls within the city limits and will make runs on an “as needed” basis to support the Scott County Fire Department in accordance with established local protocols.
